	RFId in general RFId's principle is the following : contactless reading/writing on chips (also called transponders). These chips are from different types : HITAG 1 / 2 / 2+, TITAN, TEMIC, ... Principle diagram of reading/writing a transponder:
	Antennas The communication between the transponder and the chip is done through the antenna. Therefore, it is a very important part, especially for th reading distance and quality. Antennas are designed for different applications needs. Here are a few examples of possible shapes :

  

	PCMCIA Two different types of cards are available: PCMCIA and Compact Flash. There are adaptators allowing to switch from PCMCIA to Compact Flash. PCMCIA card Compact flash card with adaptator CHARACTERISTICS : Readers on PCMCIA standard. Physical dimensions Connectique Interfaces et protections électriques Communication protocols Agreement to PCMCIA type I sizes. Weight reduction No external parts, except for the antenna. Protected reader : fully inserted into the PCMCIA slot. No external shell added Antenna and reader independance Antenna packaging. Possible late antenna modification in case of read/write specification change. Compatibility with any computer equiped with a PCMCIA slot. Drivers available for Win9x/CE.
	Compact Flash CHARACTERISTICS : Readers on CFA rev 1.4 standard. Physical dimensions Connectique Interfaces et protections électriques Communication protocols Agreement to CFA type I sizes. Weight reduction No external parts, except for the antenna. Protected reader : fully inserted into the Compact Flash slot. No external shell added Antenna and reader independance Antenna packaging. Possible late antenna modification in case of read/write specification change. Compatibility with any computer equiped with a Compact Flash slot. Drivers available for Win9x/CE.
	RS 232 Renault reader CHARACTERISTICS : This read/write electronic card is directly connected to the serial RS232 port. The sizes of this card are quite big. A same-type card with PCMCIA-near dimensions and a lower cost is actually developping.
	Long distance readers ChARACTERISTICS : This long distance reader allows an important reading distance (depending on the size of the antenna). This reader is specific to industrial applications, such as access control or garbage identification. Its IP case can bear any environmental restraint for industrial applications.
